How the Taylor Farms Recall Developed

July 15, 2026: The FDA and CDC provided Taylor Farms with traceback and epidemiological information that identified specific central Mexico iceberg lettuce lots as a potential connection to a Cyclospora cluster spanning five states.

Taylor Farms says in its Cyclospora Information Hub that it spoke with the FDA, CDC, and Michigan health officials that day to question the science, data, and methodology behind the information being used.

July 16, 2026: Government discussions continued with representatives from the FDA, HHS, and the White House. On the same date, Taylor Farms chose to voluntarily recall every iceberg lettuce product sourced from and processed at its central Mexico facility, rather than limiting the action to the lots identified by the FDA.

The company described this broader recall as being made "out of an abundance of caution." It also began notifying customers that day.
