Step-By-Step Guide To Syncing Your Magento Site With eBay, Etsy, And More
By: Kelly Bolton Date: February 28, 2018
Many small businesses use sites like eBay, Amazon, and Etsy to sell their items. It can be a bit difficult and time-consuming to try to list items for sale and keep track of sales for each one separately, so many sellers will use a site like Shopify, SureDone, or Magento to help with their listing and sales management, since they offer the ability to integrate and sync your store with different online marketplace sites, including the popular eBay, Etsy, and Amazon. Sometimes figuring out how to sync your store with a site like Shopify or Magento can be a little confusing if you’re not all that tech savvy. Let’s use Magento for an example. Let’s say you have a Magento site and want to sync your store on it with eBay, Esty, etc. but aren’t quite sure how to do it. Here’s a short guide to help you sync your Magento site for three big sites: eBay, Etsy, and Amazon.
eBay
eBay Connector for Magento 2 is an extension for syncing with eBay. It allows for the syncing of products, orders, and categories from eBay to Magento and from Magento to eBay. To use the extension:
- Install the module and get credentials from eBay.
- Go to the back-end admin panel Store>Configuration>eBay Magento Connect and enter the credentials.
- Click on Import eBay Categories and configure your settings as desired.
- Once the categories are imported, you can map them with Magento categories. Go to eBay Magento Connect>Map Category and click Map New Category. Set your categories and configure as desired.
- To import eBay products, go to go to eBay Magento Connect>Map Product and click Sync from the eBay>Import Product option from the eBay option. Once the data imports, run a profiler to create products in the Magento store.
- To export products from Magento to eBay, go to the Sync option in eBay>Import to eBay, and enter the sku numbers of the Magento products.
- To import orders from eBay, eBay Magento Connect>Map eBay Order and click on Sync from eBay>Import Order from eBay. Once the data imports, run a profiler to create orders in the Magento store.
Etsy
Etsy Connector for Magento 2 is an extension for syncing with Etsy. To use it:
- After installing, the admin needs to go through the Etsy Connector configuration by entering the Etsy credentials. Then select the default store for order sync, the Etsy import orders status, and the default website for product sync.
- Multiple Etsy stores can be synced, which is a nice plus. If syncing more than one, the admin will have to set within each account the default attribute set ID, the Etsy store name, and the default shipping template.
- Map categories, select parent and sub categories, view mapped and deleted category records, and assign products to mapped categories.
- Import products. There are various options available for this, including: Select Etsy active or expired products, view imported products, delete synchronized products, convert product variations into custom options, and view the sync date and time. The admin can also use filter options to find mapped products and view the importing process results.
- Import orders. There are various options, including importing selected orders by date, deleting mapped orders, have a Magento order ID automatically created, and use filters to find mapped orders.
- Export to Etsy. Run a profiler, after which products are added to Etsy along with basic product information.
Amazon
Amazon Connector is an extension for syncing Magento with Amazon. To use it:
- After installation, go to Stores->Configuration->Webkul->Amazon Magento Connect and configure settings: default category for the imported products, default store for Order Sync, Order Status for the Amazon imported orders, default website for Amazon Sync products, default quantity & weight values of Amazon products. Also enable the option to revise Amazon items when changes for product’s price and quantity occur in Magento 2 store.
- There is the ability to connect multiple Amazon accounts, so if you need to, for each one set the store name; select attribute set for imported product; enter the Marketplace Id, Seller Id, Access Key Id, and Secret Key; select the country of the Amazon account; enter conversion rate for converting Amazon currency to Magento currency.
- Import products. Generate Report Id to send a request to import the products from Amazon store. Then Import Product From Amazon (temporary product data is created and stored in Magento database). Then use create Imported Product to create/add the imported products to the Magento store.
Check the imported products by navigating to the store product category (set as default category for imported products during module configuration.) Then change the default category of the imported products.
- Import orders and create them in the Magento store. Then check the details.
- Export products. You can select as many as you want to export. You can edit the exported products from your Amazon Seller Central account page.
There are extensions from other developers to let you sync to eBay, Etsy, and Amazon, as well. There are also extensions available that you can get for Magento to let you sync with other marketplace sites, too. Sellbrite is a good one to use to sync with multiple sites. And there are also places you can go who offer their services to help you integrate your Magento, too.
