The new Wonder Woman movie has been a smash hit, both at the and with the movie critics. It’s hard to find anyone who has seen the movie has anything bad to say about it. Wonder Woman has long been a popular superhero, especially with women who see her as a being a great role model. Wonder Woman is a strong woman, not just physically but morally, and many women love her for standing up for what she believes to be right, but also for believing in herself. Wonder Woman is a very self-assured character, and that is a trait that many people, men and women both, should embody. It’s also a very useful trait for business. How does Wonder Woman’s self-assuredness translate into business?
1. Focus
When you are self-assured, you know what you want and what you need to do. You have the focus and determination to do something, just as Wonder Woman did when she left her Island to go to London on a mission to destroy Ares. Sure, she took a short break to free a French town from oppression, but she never lost sight of her goal. Business leaders need the same sort of focus and determination – the self-assuredness – to go after their goals.
2. Talent
You may be self-assured about a talent you have that you are proud of, something you are really good at doing. Develop that talent and push yourself to be your best, just as Wonder Woman trained on her island to become the best with an unrivalled skill in battle and strong will to overcome. You can bring talent to the table, but it must be honed and developed to reach its true potential.
3. Good
Wonder Woman is a strong, self-assured person with a good heart who does well, and she knows it. She willingly crossed a World War I battle just to do a good deed. Businesses who have self-assured leaders willing to be good and do good like Wonder Woman will have high morale, retain employees, and have long-term success.
4. Don’t Take No
Wonder Woman is a person who refuses to take “no” for an answer. She willingly disobeyed her mother’s order to remain on the island so she could join the war going on outside her home. Business leaders should know what they want and not take “no” for an answer but find another way that will lead to a “yes”.
5. The Unknown
Wonder Woman wanted to leave and join the fight outside her home, even though she had no idea what she would be facing out there and was warned she would not be allowed to return. Business leaders need to be willing to face the unknown as well, in order to advance. Doing so allows the chance to learn new skills and make new relationships.
