How To Make A Blog Popular

Blogging is a great way to reach people, to share your information and get yourself out there. It’s a great way for businesses to reach their audience, to keep in touch with current customers and to gain prospective new customers. In order for a blog to really be effective, though, it needs to be known about. If people don’t know about your blog, you won’t get much traffic to it. And your really important blog posts won’t be seen much. In order for a blog post to really be effective and to reach people, it needs to “go viral”.  So how can this be done? Here are a few tips to get your blog posts to go viral.

1. Before you post:

These are a few things you will want to make sure of before you publish your posts, so they will be attractive to both search engines and the reader’s eye:

a) Keyword optimised. Use to find keywords (most popular search terms) for your main topics, then use those keywords in your post titles. Make sure your titles are compelling and will catch a person’s interest. Maybe also use a number in your title.

b) Media. Put pictures close to key items to make them stand out more and carry more weight.

c) Reread. Read through your post before you publish it to check for and correct any errors. Readers who find errors (spelling/grammar or factual) may lower their regard for you, and possibly not share the post.

2. Social sharing

Don’t be afraid to share your posts on social media. The more shares on social media channels, the more likely your posts are to be seen and shared. So share them on , , Reddit,  Communities, , , etc. Post it to StumbleUpon and other similar sites. Share it on forums within your niche (but be careful not to spam). Add them to social bookmarking sites. Guest blog and ask other bloggers to share/reblog your posts. Including social sharing buttons on your blog to make it easier for readers to share your posts.

3. Email

Share your blogs posts to your email list. Send them updates, or include links to you blog posts in your email newsletters.

4. Content

Content is important to get readers. It has to informative and interesting to catch the reader’s attention, but also not boring. It needs to be visually appealing and easy to read, as well. Include a clear call to action, also. So, don’t just posts paragraphs of content in your posts. Make them more attractive to the reader. List posts are popular, but they have to be done right. Make the content of the lists count – fun and informative is best. In-depth,  how-to posts are popular, as well, but make them attractive as well. Maybe include step-by-step photos. Also try “showcase” posts, where you spotlight other people’s creations or accomplishments. Again, include pictures. Infographics are also very popular for sharing information in an attractive and easy to read way. Quizzes and videos are also popular.  Also, be sure to include optimisation for SEO and track and monitor results with something like .
